Community Medics, Greater Manchester Life Saving Awards
Across Greater Manchester, people save lives every day. They don’t wear capes. They don’t expect recognition. Often, they don’t even realise how important what they did really was.
It might be:
-
Giving CPR to a stranger.
-
Using a defibrillator for the first time.
-
Talking someone through a moment of crisis.
-
Promotion of, or donating an organ or blood etc.
Or simply noticing something wasn’t right, and choosing to act. The Greater Manchester Life Saving Awards are about saying thank you to those people. These awards celebrate everyday members of the public who stepped up when it mattered most. Not professionals doing their job. Just ordinary people whose actions made an extraordinary difference.
We also hope the awards do something else, to show that lifesaving isn’t just for experts, and that anyone can make a difference. If someone you know helped save a life, supported someone through a critical moment, or changed an outcome by acting when others might not have, we want to hear their story.
The awards are led by Community Medics CIC, a local community organisation dedicated to giving people the confidence, skills, and belief to step in and help when it matters most.
