About Us

Our History

Community Medics began as a small, local initiative providing affordable, community focused first aid cover across Greater Manchester. Over time, our commitment to putting people first, improving event safety, and delivering accessible lifesaving training led us to grow rapidly. In 2025, after supporting countless events and training more than 1,500 people in essential first aid skills, we took the next step and formalised our purpose by becoming a Community Interest Company (CIC). Today, Community Medics CIC continues to evolve, expanding our volunteer programme, launching our youth groups, and reinvesting our surplus back into the communities we proudly serve.

Living Wage

As a Living Wage Accredited Employer, Community Medics guarantees that everyone who works for us is paid at least the Real Living Wage, the only UK wage rate based on the real cost of living.

We already paid above this level before accreditation, but choosing to become accredited was an important step in showing our values in action. It demonstrates to local councils, schools, event organisers, and community partners that we are serious about fair work, social value, and long-term commitment to the people who deliver our services.

Fair pay helps us recruit and retain skilled, motivated people, which in turn means safer, higher-quality support for the communities and events we serve.
