First Aid at Work 3 Day
Our three-day First Aid at Work course goes beyond the basics, giving you the confidence, knowledge, and hands-on skills to deal with real emergencies in the workplace. It’s ideal for larger or higher-risk settings like construction sites, manufacturing environments, or healthcare facilities where a fast, skilled response can make all the difference.
Across the course, you’ll learn how to assess, manage, and treat a wide range of medical situations, building the calm confidence to step up and take action when it counts.

The course covers the following subjects:

Day 1 On day one the learners will develop the skills and confidence to help someone who: is unresponsive and breathing is unresponsive and not breathing, including how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) is choking. is having a seizure is having a heart attack, including the administration of aspirin is having a angina attack.
Day 2 On day two of the course, the learners will develop the skills and confidence to help someone who: is bleeding, including life-threatening bleeding and the use of haemostatic dressings for wound packing and tourniquets is suffering from shock and internal bleeding has burns has been poisoned is having a stroke is having a asthma attack is having a severe allergic reaction is having diabetic emergency.
Day 3 On day three of the course, learners will develop the skills and confidence to help someone who: feels faint has a head injury has hypothermia or heat exhaustion has an injury to a bone, muscle or joint (including spinal injuries) is having a stroke is having an asthma attack is having a severe allergic reaction is having a diabetic emergency.
Duration

This course provides 18 hours of trainer led practical training excluding breaks as per the HSE guidelines. At our training centre, our courses run from 9.30 through to 16.45, please aim to arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time. For training at your place of work, we can deliver this training at times to suit you and your staff, including weekends, evenings and over night courses.

Certificates:

All our courses undergo a rigorous quality and compliance review before certification is issued. We aim to provide e-certificates within 5 working days of course completion. Hard copy certificates are posted within 10 working days of qualification.
All courses and certifications are fully aligned with the latest 2025 HSE guidance.

Certificates are valid for 3 years.
